Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad Honors Liberation War Martyrs at National Memorial

Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad commemorated the martyrs of the Great Liberation War by placing a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar.

Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, today paid homage to the martyrs of the Great Liberation War by placing a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar. He laid the wreath at 11:40 am and observed a minute of solemn silence in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence.

Ceremonial Tribute and Guard of Honour

Following the tribute, a guard of honour was presented by members of the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force. The acting President later signed the visitors' book, expressing deep reverence for the Liberation War martyrs. In his written remarks, he also honored Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, the Proclaimer of Independence.

Additional Activities and Official Presence

As part of his visit, the acting President planted a sapling on the National Memorial premises. He left the memorial at 11:47 am after completing the official program. Earlier, at 11:35 am, he arrived at the memorial and greeted the chiefs of the three services, along with other senior officials.

Among those present were State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraq Hossain, the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division, secretaries to the President's Office, the General Officer Commanding of Savar Cantonment, the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner, and the Superintendent of Police.
