Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) has arrested 1,626 individuals and seized significant quantities of drugs and stolen goods in a three-month operation aimed at maintaining law and order.

Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) has arrested 1,626 individuals and seized significant quantities of drugs and stolen goods in a three-month operation aimed at maintaining law and order. RpMP Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud disclosed this information at a press conference held at the RpMP headquarters. The arrests include 316 warranted accused, 282 alleged drug dealers, 53 members of air conditioner copper theft rings, 32 accused in women and child abuse cases, five murder accused, 12 members of banned organizations, and 926 others. Additionally, 10 bags of copper wire, 3,000 pieces of Yaba tablets, 50 grams of heroin, 20 kg of marijuana, and various other drugs were recovered. The police operation to stop online and offline gambling is ongoing, and efforts are being made to resolve traffic congestion in the city. The RpMP Chief emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation between police and local citizens and journalists to improve the law and order situation.
