In the early hours of today, a joint team of Rapid Action Battalion-6 (RAB-6) from Khulna and Rapid Action Battalion-7 (RAB-7) from Chattogram conducted a raid in the Bakultala Mor area under Arongghata Police Station in Khulna. The operation resulted in the arrest of four suspected members of an organised theft syndicate. During the raid, the team also recovered a stolen excavator.

The arrestees have been identified as Md. Iqbal Hossain, 35, Wahid, 25, Md. Ekram Hossain, 46, and Md. Abdul Shukur, 32. According to a press release, the raid was executed at around 3:50 am following a tip-off. The suspects were apprehended along with the stolen excavator, which is connected to an organised theft case filed with Chandgaon Police Station.

A preliminary investigation revealed the alleged involvement of the arrested individuals in an organised theft ring. The stolen excavator and other seized evidence were handed over to Arongghata Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Organised theft syndicates have been a growing concern in various parts of Bangladesh. These criminal networks often target heavy machinery and valuable equipment, causing significant losses to businesses and the economy. The recent operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to combat such criminal activities.

The recovery of the stolen excavator is a significant development in the ongoing efforts to dismantle organised theft rings. It is expected that the arrested individuals will provide valuable information to the authorities, leading to further breakthroughs in the investigation.
