Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan has called on young people to engage in innovation and cleanliness activities, emphasizing that students' participation would help implement the Prime Minister's 'Clean Dhaka, Green Dhaka' programme more effectively.
Speaking as the chief guest at the prize-giving ceremony of the 'Startup Science Project and Innovation Idea Showcasing Program' and the inauguration of a cleanliness campaign at Bangladesh Navy BN College in Mirpur-14, he highlighted the importance of student involvement in cleanliness drives and public welfare activities.
Administrator Shafiqul said initiatives would be taken to expand such programmes across different parts of the city to raise public awareness and make city corporation services and civic facilities more accessible to people. He praised the innovative talents of the Navy College students and their contributions to the event.
After the prize distribution, a colourful rally was held, joined by students from Navy College, Dental College, and Navy School. The rally created awareness about the proper use of modern dustbins and the students participated in the cleanliness campaign. BN College Principal Captain M. Ismail Majumder presided over the function, and DNCC Chief Waste Management Officer Commodore Humayun Kabir was present.
