Additional Inspector General (Crime and Operations) Khondoker Rafiqul Islam today directed field-level police officers to ensure proper investigation of every case so that offenders are brought to justice. He stressed that all concerned must remain vigilant to prevent an increase in crime. Islam issued the directive while presiding over the monthly crime review meeting for June 2026, held virtually from the Police Headquarters.

During the meeting, Islam instructed police officials to give priority to the prompt and thorough investigation of murder, rape, robbery, and abduction cases to ensure their speedy disposal. The meeting reviewed the overall crime situation across the country during June, including major incidents.

Officials also discussed the progress of investigations, pending arrest warrants, trial outcomes, and conviction rates, with a focus on strengthening crime control and improving the quality of investigations. Senior officials from various police units attended the virtual meeting.

The emphasis on proper investigations is crucial for maintaining law and order and ensuring justice for victims of serious crimes in Bangladesh.
