The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed a significant rally for the second straight session today, as renewed investor confidence led to broad-based buying across the market. The benchmark DSEX index gained 60.5 points to close at 5,900, up from 5,840 in the previous session.

Market Sentiment Improves

Market analysts attributed the improved investor sentiment to easing geopolitical concerns following a temporary pause in retaliation in the Middle East conflict. Additionally, expectations of favorable earnings in several sectors contributed to the positive market mood.

Stronger Market Participation

Turnover on the premier bourse rose sharply by 44.6 percent to Tk 12.6 billion from Tk 8.7 billion in the previous session, indicating stronger market participation. The textiles sector dominated turnover with a 23.0 percent share, followed by engineering (14.4 percent) and pharmaceuticals (11.4 percent).

All major sectors ended higher, with textiles and life insurance each advancing 2.3 percent, while the food sector gained 2.0 percent. Out of 396 issues traded on the DSE, 282 advanced, 57 declined and 57 remained unchanged.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed higher, with the Selective Categories' Index (CSCX) rising 78.7 points and the All Share Price Index (CASPI) gaining 134.4 points.
