Bangladesh Braces for Widespread Rainfall, Sylhet to Receive Highest Amounts

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department forecasts rain in various parts of the country, with Sylhet recording the highest rainfall.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted rain in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours starting from 9 am. Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are expected in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, a few places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may also experience rain. The BMD bulletin warns of moderately heavy to heavy rainfall in some areas.

In the past 24 hours till 6 am today, Sylhet recorded the highest rainfall of 36 millimetres. Day and night temperatures are expected to rise slightly across the country. The highest temperature recorded on Tuesday was 35.5 degrees Celsius in Rangamati, while the minimum temperature today was 24.2 degrees Celsius in Patuakhali.

The sun will set at 6:49 pm today and rise at 5:20 am tomorrow in Dhaka. The BMD's forecast and the recorded rainfall highlight the variable weather patterns that Bangladesh experiences, which can impact daily life and agriculture.
