DMP files 3,512 cases for traffic violations in Dhaka over 2 days

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 3,512 cases against traffic law violators in drives conducted over the last two days.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 3,512 cases against traffic law violators in drives conducted across different parts of the capital over the last two days. The enforcement drives were carried out on Thursday and Friday to ensure traffic discipline in the city. During the campaign, the DMP dumped 993 motor vehicles and towed 449 vehicles.

Cases Filed by Divisions

The Traffic-Ramna Division filed 156 cases, including 11 against buses, one truck, five covered vans, 14 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 38 motorcycles. The Traffic-Division Lalbagh filed 265 cases involving 16 buses, 17 trucks, five covered vans, 24 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 81 motorcycles.

Traffic Division Motijheel lodged 597 cases against 31 buses, two trucks, 38 covered vans, 154 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 271 motorcycles. The Traffic Division Wari filed 623 cases, including 33 buses, 46 trucks, 45 covered vans, 95 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 260 motorcycles.

Continued Enforcement

The Traffic Division Tejgaon filed 524 cases involving 28 buses, five trucks, 32 covered vans, 99 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 255 motorcycles. The Traffic Division Mirpur lodged 567 cases against 11 buses, 28 trucks, 30 covered vans, 81 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 325 motorcycles.

Traffic Division Uttar filed 439 cases involving 36 buses, 19 trucks, 19 covered vans, 81 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 150 motorcycles. Additionally, the Traffic Division Gulshan filed 405 cases against 36 buses, five trucks, 14 covered vans, 79 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 143 motorcycles.

The DMP said its traffic enforcement drives will continue across the Dhaka metropolitan area to maintain traffic discipline.
