DMP Files 2,085 Cases for Traffic Rule Violations in Dhaka

Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Traffic Division has intensified its campaign against traffic rule violations by filing 2,085 cases in a single day.

In an effort to regulate and improve the traffic system in Dhaka, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 2,085 cases against vehicles, their owners, and drivers for violating traffic rules. This action is part of an ongoing campaign to enforce traffic discipline in the capital city.

Campaign Details and Enforcement Actions

The DMP's media and public relations division announced this information in a press release. The release noted that the traffic division conducted a campaign against traffic rule violators over the past day, resulting in the filing of these cases. Additionally, 577 motor vehicles were impounded, and 264 vehicles were towed during the campaign on July 15.

Division-wise Case Filings

The cases were filed across various divisions in Dhaka. Specifically, Ramna division filed 88 cases, Lalbagh division registered 194 cases, Motijheel traffic division filed 327 cases, Wari division registered 490 cases, Tejgaon division filed 286 cases, Mirpur division filed 328 cases, Uttara division registered 165 cases, and Gulshan division filed 207 cases. These cases were filed against motor vehicles, three-wheelers, and motorcycles.

The DMP traffic division has been working diligently to ensure smooth traffic flow in Dhaka, aiming to provide city dwellers with easier movement. The release further stated that the campaign against traffic violators will continue to maintain discipline on Dhaka's streets.
