Police in Dhaka conducted a 24-hour crackdown across the city, resulting in the arrest of 349 individuals. The operation led to the filing of 43 cases and the seizure of various illicit items, including drugs, foreign liquor, and mobile phones.

Operation Details

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) carried out routine raids in different police precincts. Among the items seized were 3,356 yaba tablets, 14.52 kg of cannabis, 99 bottles of foreign liquor, 63 mobile phones, one passport, four knives, 80 SIM cards, five mobile chargers, and two multi-plugs.

Arrests by Division

The arrests were distributed across several divisions: 93 in Mirpur, 58 in Tejgaon, 36 in Gulshan, 35 in Wari, 32 in Uttara, 31 in Ramna, 29 in Motijheel, 19 in Lalbagh, 14 by the Detective Branch (DB), and two by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit.

Legal Proceedings

Police have initiated legal proceedings against the detainees. The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to maintain order and combat criminal activities in the city.
