Barber tragically killed in Jashore road accident after being hit by speeding truck

A barber was tragically killed in a road accident in Jashore district.

A barber, Kesto Das, 40, was killed after being hit by a speeding truck in Chaugachha upazila of Jashore district last night. The accident occurred while Das was returning home on his bicycle after closing his shop at Chandpara Bazar. As he reached in front of GCB Ideal College on the Chaugachha-Maheshpur road, the truck struck his bicycle from behind.

Incident and Immediate Response

Local residents quickly came to Das's aid, rescuing him and taking him to Chaugachha Upazila Health Complex. However, his condition rapidly deteriorated, necessitating a transfer to the 250-bed Jashore General Hospital. Unfortunately, Das succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Police Action and Ongoing Investigation

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chaugachha Police Station Mamunur Rashid confirmed the incident. The truck involved in the accident has been seized, and legal proceedings are underway to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic event.
