A former Swechchasebok Dal leader was stabbed to death in Dhaka's Mouchak area.

Former Swechchasebok Dal Leader Billal Hossain Talukder Stabbed to Death in Dhaka's Mouchak

Billal Hossain Talukder (45), a former Swechchasebok Dal leader, was stabbed to death in the Mouchak area of Dhaka's Ramna. Police reported that Billal was attacked near Anaarkali Market around 7:45 PM on Monday. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he was declared dead at around 9 PM.

Following the incident, Didarul Islam Babu, the Swechchasebok Dal Ramna Thana convener, was expelled from the organization. The central committee also dissolved the Ramna Thana committee.

Family members and witnesses stated that Didarul Islam and his followers were assaulting Billal's nephew, Mobarak Hossain (Akash), when Billal intervened. An altercation ensued, leading to Billal being stabbed. Mobarak Hossain reported that the attackers were demanding extortion money from local shops.

Ramna Division Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Jahidul Islam mentioned that the police are investigating who stabbed Billal and will bring those involved to justice.
