Dhaka University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam, received a book titled 'July Gonoobhyutthane Narir Bhumika' (Role of Women in July Uprising) authored by Tahmid Sakib, a journalist and student of mass communication and journalism at Dhaka University. The book, published by the Department of Films and Publications under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, documents the contributions of women from various educational institutions who participated in the July Mass Uprising.

Documenting Women's Contributions

Tahmid Sakib, who witnessed the spontaneous participation of women during the uprising, authored the book to ensure their stories are documented for history. The work is based on interviews with women from Dhaka University and other schools, colleges, and universities across the country.

Commendation and Inspiration

Expressing his gratitude, Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam thanked the author for documenting such an important aspect of the movement. He highlighted the extraordinary role of women in the uprising and hoped that other students would be inspired to engage in research and writing on critical issues concerning history, society, and the state.
