Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 433 people in a series of anti-crime operations conducted across the capital over the past 24 hours, while 27 cases were filed during the same period. The operations targeted various criminal activities, particularly narcotics and other offenses. According to a DMP press release, the arrests were made by different divisions, including Mirpur, Motijheel, Uttara, Tejgaon, Gulshan, Wari, Ramna, and Lalbagh, with the Detective Branch (DB) also contributing to the efforts.

During these drives, police recovered 24.1 kilograms of cannabis, 940 yaba tablets, 30 mobile phones, three knives, an electric shock device, three abandoned bullets, a three-wheeler (Mishuk), a motorcycle, and rescued one victim. The suspects were arrested in different police station areas of the capital, mainly on charges related to narcotics and other criminal offenses.

The Mirpur Division made the highest number of arrests with 122 individuals detained, followed by Motijheel Division with 96 arrests. Other divisions, including Uttara, Tejgaon, Gulshan, Wari, Ramna, and Lalbagh, made significant contributions to the overall arrest count. The Detective Branch (DB) arrested three individuals during the operations.

The recovered items indicate a strong focus on narcotics, with a substantial amount of cannabis and yaba tablets seized. Additionally, the recovery of mobile phones, knives, and other items suggests a broad approach to tackling different types of criminal activities.

Legal proceedings against the arrestees are currently underway, as the DMP continues its efforts to maintain law and order in the capital. The recent operations highlight the police's commitment to combating crime and ensuring public safety in Dhaka.
