## Innovative Approaches Needed

The home minister highlighted that tomorrow's security challenges require innovative approaches, highly skilled personnel and greater international cooperation as criminal networks become increasingly sophisticated and transnational. He underscored Bangladesh's longstanding contribution to United Nations peacekeeping operations and noted significant reforms undertaken by the country to better equip its police force.

## Proposed Network and Conference

Salahuddin proposed the establishment of a UN Police Knowledge and Innovation Network to facilitate the systematic exchange of expertise, best practices and professional knowledge among UN member states. He also suggested holding an annual Conference on Environment and Policing to strengthen international cooperation, preparedness and knowledge-sharing in addressing climate-related security risks.

## Focus on Climate Change

Describing climate change as an emerging security challenge, the home minister stressed the importance of enhancing the capacity of UN Police through innovation, specialised expertise and modern technology. He believes this is crucial to maintaining effective peace operations in an increasingly complex global security environment.
