## Portuguese and Chinese Victims

Portugal's foreign ministry has reported 15 victims of Portuguese nationality or descent. This number has increased from the previously reported nine dead and 56 missing. Meanwhile, seven Chinese nationals were confirmed as victims, according to Beijing's state broadcaster CCTV, citing incomplete figures from the embassy in Caracas. The Chinese embassy urged its citizens in Venezuela to take precautions against aftershocks and other secondary disasters.

## Spanish and Brazilian Casualties

Spain announced at least five of its citizens had died, with 119 still missing. Fourteen individuals have been located under the rubble. As of January 1, Spain had 147,000 nationals living in Venezuela. Brazil, which shares a border with Venezuela, confirmed two of its citizens—a man and a woman—died in the disaster. The Brazilian government is providing their relatives with consular assistance.

## Italian Victim

A man in his mid-50s, born in Caracas and holding both Italian and Venezuelan citizenship, was killed when a building collapsed in the hardest-hit region of La Guaira, according to Rome's foreign ministry. Italy estimates there are about 170,000 Italian passport-holders in Venezuela.
