The National Semiconductor Symposium & BEAR Summit 2026 is set to commence in Dhaka on July 25-26, marking a significant step towards positioning Bangladesh as a globally connected semiconductor and deep-tech innovation hub. Organized jointly by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA), and the Silicon River Bangladesh programme, the summit aims to bring together government policymakers, industry executives, researchers, entrepreneurs, and experts to formulate the country's long-term strategy in these critical sectors.

## Aiming for Global Connectivity

Science and Technology Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain highlighted the importance of the summit during a press conference at the Gulshan Club. He emphasized that the event will serve as a platform for collaboration among various stakeholders, including university representatives and investors, to drive forward Bangladesh's ambitions in the semiconductor and deep-tech industries.

## Innovative Expo and Future Initiatives

In addition to the summit, the BEAR Innovation Expo 2026 will run concurrently, showcasing innovations by students and startup entrepreneurs in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, robotics, healthcare technology, and intelligent systems. The expo will feature 35 exhibition stalls, providing a glimpse into the future of Bangladesh's tech ecosystem.

Secretary Hossain also announced the establishment of a National AI Institute, a collaborative effort among the government, industry, and academia aimed at advancing artificial intelligence research and supporting policy formulation. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to fostering a robust and innovative tech environment in Bangladesh.
