19-year-old Russian Mira Andrieva has won her first Grand Slam title by triumphing at the French Open. In the final at Roland Garros, she defeated Poland's Maja Chofaliniewska 6-3, 6-2. This marks Andrieva's first Grand Slam trophy and makes her the youngest player born after 2005 to win a Grand Slam.

Ranked 8th in the world, Andrieva was the favorite heading into the final. She has already won five WTA titles and reached the fourth round at Wimbledon. In contrast, Chofaliniewska, ranked 114th, had to qualify for the tournament and had only qualified for two of 14 previous Grand Slams.

After the match, Chofaliniewska praised Andrieva, saying, 'I hoped you would see a better match today, but Mira played much better than me; I think the fault is hers! I did my best, please forgive me.' Andrieva, holding the trophy, expressed her disbelief, saying, 'I've been watching Roland Garros on TV since I was very young. Winning this tournament is a huge deal. I can't believe I'm holding this trophy!'
