Bangladesh Women's cricket team captain Nigar Sultana Joty has expressed her hopes to reach the final of the upcoming Asian Games as her side prepares at home, despite rain interruptions. The Asian Games will commence on September 19 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with Bangladesh scheduled to face China first in the eight-team tournament.

## Preparation amid challenges

Joty told the ICC that the team aims to prepare in a way that allows them to perform better than they did last year. "With the amount of rain currently affecting every venue in Bangladesh, we will still try to prepare in the best possible way before going there and definitely aim to play in the final," she said.

## Upcoming tours and challenges

In addition to the Asian Games, Joty is looking forward to upcoming tours of Australia, New Zealand, and England. These tours will provide the team with opportunities to develop their skills against some of the biggest teams in women's cricket. "This is a very big opportunity for our team," Joty said. "We have always wanted to play in places like Australia, New Zealand, or England because playing there helps develop your skills much more."

Bangladesh's recent performances, including two victories from five appearances at the recent T20 World Cup, have given the team confidence. They finished in fourth place in their group behind Australia, South Africa, and Asian rivals India. Joty believes that these experiences will help the team rise to the occasion in the upcoming challenges.
