Speaking to The Pulse Today, Majumdar highlighted the significant progress the players have made, particularly in their fielding skills, crucial for the longer format of the game.

Majumdar noted that the team has been practicing intensively, focusing on various fielding techniques such as slip catch, high catch, deep fine leg, and deep square leg. 'Day by day, the players are improving, they are working hard,' he said. He added that the team has benefited from a recent practice match, where they demonstrated effective fielding and adaptability to local conditions.

The fielding coach emphasized the importance of mental preparedness for Test cricket, which requires sustained concentration over five days. 'Alhamdulillah, our players are mentally ready. Cricket is a game of bat and ball. We are preparing both mentally and physically,' Majumdar stated. He also stressed the need to convert half-chances into dismissals, a critical skill in Test cricket where opportunities can be rare.

Majumdar highlighted that maintaining concentration is key to turning half-chances into full chances, especially in the longer version of the game. 'The main goal is to turn half chances into full chances. We are working on how to keep up the concentration,' he explained. With the first Test match scheduled for next Thursday, the Bangladesh team is currently in Australia, fully committed to their preparation.

The fielding coach concluded by saying that the team has been in Australia for a while, allowing ample time to adapt to the conditions. 'We have been here a long time. The players are trying to adapt. A lot has been done already. We have taken adequate preparation,' Majumdar assured. He expressed optimism that the team's hard work and dedication will pay off in the upcoming matches.
