# Minister Advocates for Collaborative Efforts to Ensure Peace in Bandarban

In a significant call for unity, Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Sa Ching Prue urged all political and regional parties in the hill areas to collaborate for ensuring peace, harmony, and sustainable development. Speaking at a mass reception and rally organized at the Bandarban Press Club premises, the minister highlighted the importance of peaceful coexistence as the cornerstone of the hill region.

This gathering marked Minister Prue's first visit to Bandarban since assuming office and coincided with the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Under the directives of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the minister assured that equitable distribution of resources in the hills would be a priority. He pledged continued government support to enhance healthcare services, increase the supply of safe drinking water, and promote coffee and cashew cultivation among farmers.

Expressing his gratitude to the people of Bandarban, Minister Prue acknowledged that their trust and support had enabled him to represent the hill people in parliament and the cabinet. He vowed to build a discrimination-free Bandarban, founded on the ideals of the national flag and based on peace, discipline, and harmony.

Bandarban District BNP Senior Joint Convener Md Osman Gani presided over the program. Notable BNP leaders and activists, including Joint Convener Mujibur Rashid, Abdul Quddus, and Md Jahangir Alam, were present. Earlier in the day, the minister inaugurated Hotel Hilly Rainbow Bandarban at Nilachal Road intersection, a project aimed at boosting local tourism and economy.

The Chittagong Hill Tracts, comprising Bandarban, Khagrachari, and Rangamati districts, have a complex history marked by ethnic diversity and occasional conflicts. Ensuring peace and development in these regions requires sustained efforts from all stakeholders, including political parties, local communities, and the government. Minister Prue's visit and his call for unity reflect the ongoing efforts to address these challenges and build a more harmonious future for the hill people.
