Dr. Md. Saimum Parvez, the Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Environment, Forest and Climate Change, emphasized the need for a national consensus to ensure the trial of Sheikh Hasina, labeling her as a fascist. During a discussion at the Shibganj Upazila Parishad conference room in Chapainawabganj on July Mass Uprising Day, Parvez highlighted the importance of justice for enforced disappearances, killings, and torture, advocating for a united effort to create an equitable and environmentally sustainable Bangladesh.

## Call for Justice and Democratic Governance

Parvez argued that the previous Awami League government had neglected the country's national interests in favor of a neighboring country. He stressed that future governance should prioritize national sovereignty, the rights of the people, and the interests of Bangladesh. The discussion underscored the importance of holding those responsible for past injustices accountable.

## Environmental Initiatives

Following the discussion, Dr. Saimum Parvez launched a tree plantation campaign and tree fair at the upazila premises. He planted a sapling and encouraged everyone to contribute to environmental protection. The event was organized by the Shibganj Upazila Administration and chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mazharul Islam, with the presence of various government officials, teachers, students, and media personnel.
