'One of the central aspirations of the July Movement was that Bangladesh should never become a client state,' he declared, reflecting on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's remarks at the July Memorial Museum inauguration.

Dr. Khalilur emphasized that the guiding principle of Bangladesh's foreign policy is now 'Bangladesh First.' He asserted, 'We will never again allow Bangladesh to become a client state. Never again.' This stance signifies a profound shift in the nation's diplomatic approach, rooted in the sacrifices made during the uprising.

The foreign minister recounted T rkiye's Foreign Minister's recent comment that Bangladesh, once seemingly fading from the international stage, is now making a robust return. This observation highlights Bangladesh's renewed international standing and the success of its foreign policy reorientation.

Dr. Khalilur paid tribute to the martyrs of the July-August 2024 uprising, acknowledging their sacrifice for democracy, justice, and human rights. He expressed sympathy for those who survived with lifelong injuries, honoring their unwavering conviction and courage.

Reflecting on the post-uprising transition, the minister highlighted three major priorities: ensuring the security of the then Chief Adviser, maintaining national stability, and holding a credible election. He credited the European Union Election Observation Mission's assessment of a peaceful and credible national election, which led to the formation of a government under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Dr. Khalilur also celebrated Bangladesh's successful campaign for the Presidency of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, attributing the victory to the tireless efforts of Bangladesh's diplomatic missions and its permanent mission to the United Nations in New York. He urged all to honor the July martyrs' sacrifices by protecting the country with commitment, integrity, and patriotism.
