200 leaders and workers from various parties joined the National Citizen Party (NCP) in Chandpur. Among them are four freedom fighters. The party announced this in a press release sent to the media on Friday.

The press release stated that these leaders and workers joined the NCP at an Eid reunion event organized by the party on Friday at Chengarchor Degree College ground in Matlab North upazila of Chandpur district.

The event was attended by NCP's chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, chief organizer (North) Sarjis Alam, joint general secretary Mohammad Nizamuddin, Chandpur district NCP convener Mahbubullah Alam, and general secretary Amanullah Patwari.

Also present were leaders and workers from NCP's affiliated organizations Chhatrashakti, Jubashakti, Nari Shakti, and Sramik Shakti, as well as central, district, and upazila-level leaders and workers of the party.

The press release mentioned that the new members include leaders and workers from BNP, Gana Odhikar Parishad, AP Bangladesh, and various political and social arenas. The four freedom fighters who joined are Abu Bakr Siddique, Osman Gani, Ramij Uddin, and Mohammad Ali. One of them served as a commander during the liberation war.

At the event, Nasiruddin Patwari delivered a speech on the current political reality of the country, establishing people's rights, developing youth leadership, and building an accountable state. He called on the new members to prioritize serving the people.
