# 120 Banned Awami League Members Charged Under Anti-Terrorism Act in Gopalganj

A case under the Anti-Terrorism Act has been filed against 120 leaders and activists of the banned Awami League (AL) and its affiliated organizations for allegedly planning acts of sabotage in Gopalganj. The case was filed with Kashiani Thana for blocking the Dhaka-Khulna Highway and disrupting public order.

Another 200 to 300 unidentified individuals have also been named as accused in the case. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Muksudpur Circle Nafisur Rahman confirmed that 18 accused have been arrested and sent to jail, while police operations continue to arrest the remaining suspects.

The case was filed by Imdadul Haque, a resident of Dhankora village and General Secretary of the Ratail Union BNP. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused blocked the Dhaka-Khulna Highway on July 14, chanting slogans and obstructing traffic. They allegedly assaulted BNP leaders and set a motorcycle on fire.
