Prime Minister’s Press Secretary AAM Saleh Shibly announced that the government is focused on strengthening information flow from the grassroots. This will be achieved by decentralizing and empowering district information officers, making it easier for journalists and the public to access information.

## Empowering District Information Officers

At a press conference held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, Shibly explained that district information officers are being further empowered and made more active. This move aims to facilitate journalists at the district level to obtain information on contemporary issues more easily.

## Government Initiatives and Manifesto Implementation

Referring to the implementation of the government's 31-point election manifesto and the July National Charter, Shibly emphasized that people can learn about the government's initiatives and their implementation through the media. He criticized the previous government's development claims, stating that the current Prime Minister's visits to various districts revealed the real issues and underdevelopment.

Shibly cited the health sector as an example, noting that Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman introduced the 30-bed Upazila Health Complex system, which was later upgraded to 50 beds by Begum Khaleda Zia. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has now announced plans to upgrade all hospitals in the country's 492 upazilas to 101-bed facilities.

The press secretary also highlighted the Prime Minister's efforts to restore family and social values, improve living standards, and bring qualitative political change. He mentioned the Prime Minister's actions, such as picking up plastic bottles at a children's program and stressing proper waste management in the budget speech, as examples of leading by action.

Shibly called upon media workers to highlight these positive social issues more prominently to help build a beautiful, prosperous, and value-based society. He described the FY2026–27 budget as a 'people-friendly budget,' noting that prices of essential commodities have been kept within the reach of ordinary people.
