National Citizen Party (NCP) spokesperson Asif Mahmud has strongly criticized the unregulated cattle markets set up across Dhaka during this year's Eid-ul-Azha. He asserted that such practices were not observed during the Awami League's tenure. Asif Mahmud highlighted that markets or cattle fairs under the metrorail or in residential areas were never permitted. He also accused BNP leaders and workers of involvement in setting up these markets, despite not being officially leased. Asif Mahmud made these remarks at an event in Banglamotor, where he inaugurated a week-long tree plantation, sapling distribution, and discussion program organized by Dhaka North City NCP to mark World Environment Day. He emphasized the deteriorating environmental challenges and criticized the current government's inaction. Asif Mahmud also condemned the inefficiency of the two administrators appointed by the BNP government in Dhaka's city corporations, attributing the city's poor environmental ranking to their negligence.
