The bustling campus of the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) is alive with the energy of the inaugural day of 'Jobspecs 2026'. This two-day national job fair, held from August 1-2, aims to connect students and fresh graduates with leading employers nationwide. Organised by Spectrum-A, the Skill Development Club of KUET, the event is a significant step towards bridging the gap between academic qualifications and industry demands.

The fair's launch was marked by the presence of prominent figures, including Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Maksud, who inaugurated the event. Other attendees included Director of Students' Welfare Prof Dr Md Hasan Ali, Spectrum-A Moderator Prof Dr Md Shariful Islam, and a host of faculty members, company representatives, and students eager to explore job opportunities.

Participating in the fair are 20 leading national and multinational companies, all eager to offer a range of opportunities from permanent employment to internships and professional networking. The fair is designed to enhance employment prospects for young job seekers by providing a platform for direct interaction with human resource representatives.

Organisers reported that job seekers from 34 universities have already submitted their resumes, and 33 partner clubs from various universities have collaborated to ensure wide participation. The fair is seen as an effective platform for students and graduates to explore career opportunities while enabling employers to identify skilled and promising talents.

At the inaugural ceremony, speakers highlighted the importance of professional skills, industry exposure, and practical workplace knowledge in today's competitive job market. They emphasised that initiatives like 'Jobspecs 2026' play a crucial role in preparing students for the workforce.

The organisers expressed hope that the event would not only provide immediate job opportunities but also build long-term professional connections among students, graduates, and industry stakeholders, contributing to the development of a skilled workforce in Bangladesh.
