Prime Minister Tareq Rahman announced that the government will recruit 5 lakh employees to fill vacant positions across various departments. During the question-answer session in the Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday afternoon, the Prime Minister responded to a supplementary question from BNP MP Abul Kalam of Comilla-9 regarding government vacancies. He stated, 'The government has decided to recruit 5 lakh government employees. Among them, the process of recruiting 2879 people against vacant positions in the Ministry of Public Administration and its subordinate departments and agencies is ongoing.'

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of filling these positions to enhance service delivery to the people. He assured that the recruitment process would begin as soon as possible. The session, chaired by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, included marked questions and supplementary questions from various MPs.
