Bangladesh and Japan recently hosted a human resource matching seminar in Shizuoka to enhance the exchange of skilled workers between the two countries. The event, jointly organized by the Bangladesh Embassy in Japan and the Japan International Trainee and Skilled Worker Cooperation Organization (JITCO), aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in employment and skills development.

## Focus on Skilled Workforce Development

Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan, Md Daud Ali, highlighted the potential for mutual benefits by connecting Japan's demand for skilled workers with Bangladesh's demographic dividend. He noted that over 250 training centers in Bangladesh are currently offering Japanese language training to a large number of young people, and that more than 12,000 Bangladeshis have traveled to Japan under various employment categories in the past six months.

## Positive Feedback from Japanese Employers

JITCO President Shinji Ogawa commended Bangladeshi workers for their diligence and adaptability. He reported that the pass rate of Bangladeshi candidates in Japanese language and skills examinations has significantly improved, and that Bangladeshi technical interns and Specified Skilled Workers (SSW) are performing well across various sectors in Japan.

## Government Initiatives and Future Prospects

Md Zainal Abedin, Counsellor (Labour Wing) at the Bangladesh Embassy, presented the measures taken by the Bangladesh government to supply skilled workers to Japan. He emphasized the growing interest among Japanese companies in recruiting Bangladeshi workers and highlighted the potential for expanded cooperation in human resource development and employment.
