Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain today announced that the government is implementing various plans to make healthcare services more accessible and ensure they reach people's doorsteps across Bangladesh. He made the remarks after visiting Morelganj Upazila Health Complex in Bagerhat and expressing dissatisfaction over its management, quality of services, expired medicines, poor quality of food, and shortage of physicians. Husain emphasized the government's responsibility towards the people's welfare and pledged to ensure healthcare services for all, especially the poor.

## Minister's Surprise Visit and Dissatisfaction

The minister arrived at Morelganj Upazila Health Complex around 11:00am and spent nearly two and a half hours inspecting different departments and interacting with officials. He criticized the hospital's management and conditions, highlighting the need for improvement.

## Commitment to Upgrade and Modernize

Sakhawat Husain announced that the existing 50-bed Morelganj Upazila Health Complex would be upgraded to a 101-bed hospital. He also visited Sharankhola Upazila Health Complex, where he announced measures to establish a modern operation theatre, address the shortage of doctors and nurses, strengthen laboratory and pathology services, and construct a permanent hospital building.

## Government's Pledge to the People

The minister reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring healthcare services for all Bangladeshis, regardless of their socio-economic status. He stressed that no one should die without receiving treatment and that the government will utilize its resources to provide healthcare for the poor.
