Fifteen government hospitals, including Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), have received advanced haematology analysers to improve diagnostic services and ensure faster and more accurate blood testing for patients across the country. Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain handed over the machines at a ceremony held at the Central Medical Stores Depot (CMSD) in the capital's Tejgaon.

## Donation and Ceremony

Leading medical equipment supplier EGMED International Limited donated 15 state-of-the-art MISPA HX58 Automatic 5-Part Haematology Analysers with Autoloaders free of cost to the hospitals. The donation was part of an initiative to strengthen the healthcare sector by providing essential medical equipment.

## Minister's Remarks

Speaking at the programme, the health minister said the government has accelerated the public procurement process to strengthen the healthcare sector. He emphasized the importance of proper utilization of funds allocated to the health sector, stating that nearly Tk 69,000 crore has been allocated for the health sector in the current national budget.

## Importance of Accurate Diagnosis

Chairman of EGMed International Limited Golam Dastagir Touhid highlighted the importance of accurate diagnosis for quality treatment. He expressed pride in working as a partner of the government in modernising Bangladesh's healthcare system. Officials at the programme noted that the new haematology analysers would enable government hospitals to conduct faster and more precise blood tests, improve the quality of diagnosis and clinical decision-making, reduce patients' waiting time, and expand access to modern diagnostic services in different parts of the country.

## Training and Support

Training, maintenance, and technical support will be provided to ensure the machines' effective long-term operation. The ceremony was attended by Jatiya Sangsad Whip Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, CMSD Director (Joint Secretary) Dr Shafiur Rahman, EGMed International Limited Managing Director Golam Momit Faisal, and senior officials concerned.
