# Bangladesh Reports Five Additional Child Deaths Linked to Measles Symptoms

Five more children have died with measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). During the same period, 1,069 children were reported infected with confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms. Since March 15, a total of 698 children have died with measles symptoms, and 95 have died after being confirmed with measles, bringing the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms to 793. In the past 24 hours, 147 children were confirmed infected with measles, while 922 were suffering from measles-like symptoms. No confirmed measles death was recorded during this period. Since March 15, a total of 101,026 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide, of which 97,532 have recovered and been discharged.
