# Bangladesh Reports Three More Deaths as Dengue Cases Surge

Health officials have reported three additional deaths due to dengue in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities this year to 37. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) also recorded 372 new cases during the same period.

Of the new cases, 67 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 54 in Chattogram division, 103 in Dhaka division, 52 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 22 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 43 in Khulna division, 21 in Mymensingh division, four in Rajshahi division, and six in Rangpur division.

Since the start of the year, Bangladesh has witnessed 10,857 dengue cases. In comparison, last year saw 413 deaths and 1,02,861 cases, while 2024 reported 575 deaths and 1,01,214 cases.

The ongoing dengue outbreak poses a significant public health challenge for Bangladesh, with the number of cases and deaths continuing to rise. The government and health authorities are working to control the spread of the disease and provide necessary medical care to affected individuals.
