The Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) has directed private hospitals in Chattogram to establish their own parking facilities to mitigate traffic congestion in the city. CDA Chairman Engineer Belayet Hossain highlighted that insufficient parking spaces often create congestion in roads adjacent to these health facilities. He urged all private hospitals to ensure adequate permanent parking facilities as soon as possible, warning that failure to comply will result in stringent legal repercussions.

## Inspections and Warnings

Earlier in the day, a high-level team from the CDA inspected various hospitals, including the Metropolitan Hospital, Royal Hospital, Medical Center, and CSCR Hospital, from morning until noon. Engineer Belayet Hossain emphasized that many hospitals are currently operating in breach of the CDA's building construction regulations, a situation that will no longer be tolerated.

## Consensus for Change

The CDA Chairman also noted that all service organizations, including the CDA, City Corporation, WASA, and CMP, have reached a consensus that the traffic congestion in the city must be resolved without exception. There will be no leniency granted to anyone concerning the efforts to alleviate the hardships faced by the city’s dwellers.
