# Bangladesh's Measles Crisis Worsens: 3 More Child Deaths Reported

Bangladesh continues to grapple with a severe measles outbreak, as three additional children succumbed to the disease in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of suspected measles-related child deaths to 744 since the crisis began on March 15. Health authorities reported 872 new suspected cases and 121 confirmed cases over the same period, raising concerns about the ongoing spread of the disease.

From March 15 to August 1, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has recorded a total of 129,061 suspected measles cases, with 16,180 confirmed cases. The situation is particularly dire as hospitals across the country have admitted 111,674 suspected measles patients, out of which 107,397 have recovered and been discharged. Despite the grim statistics, there were no deaths reported from confirmed measles in the last 24 hours, bringing the total confirmed measles deaths to 96.
