She noted, 'If I didn't agree to do these scenes, maybe I wouldn't get the role. No one ever told me this, but I was very young and didn't know much.'

Demie plays the character Maddy Perez in Euphoria, a role that has gained popularity over three seasons. She recalled feeling uncomfortable during the shooting of a montage scene in the first season where Maddy cheats on her boyfriend Nate Jacobs. Demie emphasized, 'I'm not saying I don't like sexuality. I think it can be beautifully presented on screen. But after doing those scenes, I realized I wasn't comfortable with them.'

After expressing her discomfort to the producers, Demie found a supportive response. 'When I spoke up, everyone was very sympathetic. No one pressured me.
