The World Bank-Japan Scholarship Program for 2026 is currently accepting applications. This joint initiative offers scholarships for 44 master's programs at 24 universities across the globe, focusing on development-related subjects.

Eligible candidates must be citizens of World Bank member developing countries, hold a bachelor's degree obtained at least three years before the application deadline, and have at least three years of full-time work experience in development-related fields within the last six years. They must also be currently employed in a development-related job.

The scholarship covers tuition fees, a monthly stipend, and basic health insurance. Evaluation criteria include academic record, professional experience, commitment to the development of their home country, and the proposed study plan.

Applications are only sent to students who have been admitted to the designated programs (without funding) and shortlisted by the respective universities. The application process is conducted in two phases according to the academic calendars of the universities. The first phase ended on February 27, 2026.
