# Dr. Md Azam Khan Appointed Temporary Proctor at Jagannath University

*Professor Dr Md Azam Khan has been appointed as the interim proctor of Jagannath University while the current proctor is abroad for medical treatment.*

In an effort to maintain academic order during a period of transition, Professor Dr Md Azam Khan, from the Department of Economics, has been assigned additional duties as the proctor of Jagannath University (JnU). This interim appointment was made due to the current proctor, Professor Dr Mohammad Nasir Uddin, who has left for medical treatment overseas.

The university's acting Registrar, Professor Dr Md Gias Uddin, announced the temporary charge in an official order released on August 11, 2026. According to the order, Professor Khan’s tenure as interim proctor will commence on August 12 and continue until further directives are issued, pending approval from the university's Syndicate.

As part of his role, Professor Khan will be entitled to allowances and benefits as outlined in the university's regulations. This transition period ensures that the university's academic and disciplinary functions remain uninterrupted while the permanent proctor is away.
