Nazrul University is set to host a five-day 'Research Week 2026' from June 28 to July 2. Organized by the university's Research and Extension Center, the event aims to enhance research skills among teachers and students, encourage high-quality research, and promote the effective use of artificial intelligence in research activities.

## Event Highlights

The event will feature various training workshops and seminars. Key sessions include special training on SPSS, Stata, NVivo, and Python-based machine learning, organized in collaboration with the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell. Additionally, seminars will cover topics such as higher education and foreign scholarships, research and academic writing, strategies for publishing research papers in high-impact journals, and the use of artificial intelligence in research.

The program will also include a 'Research Idea Competition' and special online sessions. Interested participants can register via Google Forms, with registration starting on June 24 at 9 PM. Due to limited seating (80 seats) for offline seminars, students will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Teachers, however, do not need prior registration.

## Background and Expectations

At a press conference on June 24, the university's Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of the Research Management Board, Professor Dr. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, emphasized the importance of research in determining a university's excellence. He expressed hope that 'Research Week 2026' would play a crucial role in making the university a comprehensive research-friendly institution.

The Research and Extension Center, established on September 23, 2023, following a decision by the university's 43rd Syndicate Meeting, has funded 953 research projects at a cost of approximately 166.1 million Taka. The results of these projects have been published in renowned national and international journals.
