Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University Prof. Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim emphasized the importance of developing soft skills and technological expertise alongside academic education to prepare students for the evolving job market. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the KU URP-EDGE Training Programme, he highlighted that technological excellence has been a key driver of progress in developed countries.

Prof. Dr. Rezaul Karim noted that the rapid advancement of technology demands that students continuously enhance their technological capabilities. He pointed out that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has already simplified many aspects of daily life, while networking has become increasingly important in today's digital world.

## Constant Evolution of Information Technology

The vice-chancellor also noted that the information technology sector is evolving constantly, making it essential for students to remain skilled and well-prepared to meet future challenges. He stressed the need for students to adapt to these changes to stay competitive in the job market.

## Lifelong Learning and Training

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Harunur Rashid Khan, speaking as a special guest, said there is no alternative to training and lifelong learning. He emphasized that students must complement their academic knowledge with practical and contemporary skills to remain competitive in the workplace.

## Program Overview and Key Speakers

The training programme was organized by the Urban and Rural Planning (URP) Discipline under the Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) Project, implemented by the Bangladesh Computer Council under the ICT Division of the Government of Bangladesh. The event was chaired by URP Discipline Head Professor Dr. Md Zakir Hossain and addressed by Dean of the School of Science, Engineering and Technology Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam and Director of the Planning and Development Division Prof. Dr. Kazi Saiful Islam.

## Certificate Distribution

The vice-chancellor and other guests distributed certificates among the participants in the training programme in the presence of teachers of the URP Discipline and students from different batches.
