Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon announced that Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination candidates who missed any examination due to adverse weather or other unavoidable circumstances will be given a special opportunity to sit for the missed subjects. The affected candidates will be allowed to take the examinations alongside the postponed examinations of the Chattogram Education Board, using the same question papers. The examinations will be held on dates and times to be fixed by the Ministry of Education.

## Announcement in Parliament

Milon made the announcement in a statement under Rule 300 of the Rules of Procedure in the Jatiya Sangsad. He said a total of 1,270,583 candidates are taking part in the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations at 2,697 examination centres across the country.

## Postponed Examinations

Examinations under the Chattogram Education Board in five districts -- Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Khagrachhari, Rangamati, and Bandarban -- were postponed due to heavy rainfall and inclement weather. Apart from the Chattogram Education Board, a number of candidates in Dhaka and several other districts were also unable to attend examinations because of adverse weather and other unavoidable reasons.

## Special Arrangement for Affected Candidates

Under the decision, candidates who missed examinations because of bad weather or other unavoidable circumstances will be allowed to sit for the relevant subjects with the postponed Chattogram Education Board examinations using the same question papers on the dates to be announced by the Ministry of Education. Describing the HSC examination as a 'crucial milestone' in the students' academic life, the minister said the government had taken the decision on special consideration to ensure that no candidate suffers academic loss.

## Addressing Errors in Physics Paper

Referring to errors in the Physics First Paper question paper, Dr. Milon said the officials responsible for preparing the faulty paper have already been suspended temporarily. He assured examinees and their guardians that no candidate would be disadvantaged by the mistakes in Questions 6 and 7 of the Physics First Paper. The minister said all candidates would be awarded full marks for the two questions.
