# Government Under Bobby Hajjaj Focuses on Comprehensive Education Reform

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj has underscored that reforming the education system is a top priority for the government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. Hajjaj expressed confidence that the planned reforms, efficient administration, and quality teaching will yield significant improvements in the education sector over the next five years. Speaking after visiting several government primary schools in Jaintiapur and Gowainghat upazilas, Hajjaj detailed the government's initiatives to enhance the quality of education, including infrastructure development, technology-based learning, a modernized curriculum, teacher training, and strengthening students' foundational skills. A new assessment framework is being developed to ensure students acquire essential reading, writing, and numeracy skills. Additionally, measures are being strengthened to enhance teacher training, evaluate performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and regularly monitor the quality of classroom instruction.

Hajjaj emphasized that all primary educational institutions, whether public or private, must adhere to government policies and quality standards. To bolster administrative capacity at the field level, a series of workshops are being conducted for education officials at the divisional, district, and upazila levels. A recent six-hour workshop in Sylhet Division provided detailed guidance on the new assessment system, classroom learning standards, and administrative oversight. Similar workshops are scheduled to be completed across all divisions by August 17.

The State Minister stressed that there would be no tolerance for negligence in carrying out responsibilities. The new evaluation system will be used to regularly review the performance of education officials and teachers, with appropriate administrative actions taken against those found negligent. Among those present during the school visits were Deputy Director of the Primary Education Directorate Md. Abdul Alim, Acting Divisional Deputy Director AKM Saiful Hasan, District Primary Education Officer Sakhawat Ershad, Jaintiapur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sunanda Roy, Gowainghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ratan Kumar Adhikari, and Assistant Superintendent of Police Salman Noor Alam.

The government's focus on education reform reflects a broader commitment to improving the nation's educational outcomes. By investing in infrastructure, technology, and teacher training, the government aims to create a more effective and equitable education system. The introduction of a new assessment framework and regular performance evaluations are expected to hold both educators and administrators accountable, ensuring that students receive the high-quality education they deserve.
