# Dhaka University Establishes Three Committees to Examine DUCSU Operations

Dhaka University (DU) has established three separate committees to investigate recent activities by the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU). The committees will examine the launching of a website named "DU Evaluation" by DUCSU, the installation of memorials titled "Nirbhik July" on the university campus, and the display of controversial photographs at the DUCSU Museum.

According to a press release, the committees were formed under Section 12(3) of the Dhaka University Order, 1973, to maintain overall discipline on the university campus. Each committee has been instructed to submit their reports within seven working days.

The first committee, headed by DU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Al-Mojaddedi Alfechani, will investigate the launch of the "DU Evaluation" website. The committee includes Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Dr Abdus Salam, Dean of the Faculty of Law Dr Mohammad Ikramul Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Professor Al Amin, and Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Dr SM Hafizur Rahman. The university Registrar will serve as the member-secretary.

The second committee, also headed by the DU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration), will look into the installation of the "Nirbhik July" memorials by DUCSU without university permission. This committee comprises the Deans of the Faculty of Business Studies and the Faculty of Law, and Proctor Md Israfil Prang. University Estate Manager Fatema Binte Mustafa will serve as the member-secretary.

The third committee, again headed by the DU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration), will investigate the display of controversial photographs of Pakistan's founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Students' Union leader Abdul Malek at the DUCSU Museum. The committee includes the Deans of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Business Studies, and the Proctor. The university Estate Manager will serve as the member-secretary.

These investigations are crucial for maintaining the academic and disciplinary standards at Dhaka University.
