Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today urged Japan to recruit more skilled Bangladeshi workers and increase investment in Bangladesh. He made the call during a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister's Special Advisor Uno Yoshimasa at his office in the Bangladesh Secretariat. The Prime Minister specifically requested the recruitment of skilled healthcare workers, agricultural workers, and drivers proficient in Japanese. He also sought greater Japanese cooperation in human resource development and skills enhancement. Rahman called for another industrial park similar to the one at Araihazar in Narayanganj and stressed the need for expanded bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The meeting also discussed the inauguration of the Third Terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and the progress of Mass Rapid Transit projects. Key officials from both nations were present, including Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Japanese Assistant Vice Minister Nakayama Rieko.

The Prime Minister's call for increased worker recruitment and investment aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between Bangladesh and Japan. Enhanced cooperation in various sectors, including infrastructure and human resource development, is expected to elevate bilateral relations. The establishment of another industrial park would create more job opportunities and boost economic growth in Bangladesh. Expanded trade and investment from Japan could significantly contribute to Bangladesh's development goals.
