# Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia Enhance Economic Ties Through Strengthened Partnership

Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to taking bilateral relations to a new height, with Riyadh identifying Bangladesh as a priority country and seeking stronger economic, investment, and business cooperation. This commitment was highlighted during a meeting between State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah.

During the meeting, Kobir handed over a letter from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman addressed to Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. Both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further advancing the partnership.

Prince Faisal emphasized the importance of deepening economic cooperation between the two countries. He noted growing interest among Saudi companies in Bangladesh and expressed Riyadh's interest in further expanding Saudi investment and business engagement in the country. The Saudi foreign minister also commended the contribution of Bangladeshi expatriates to Saudi Arabia's development.

Kobir mentioned that a number of high-level visits have taken place between the two countries since the formation of the BNP-led government, creating fresh opportunities for expanding comprehensive cooperation across various sectors. He also referred to prospective high-level visits between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia in the near future.

The state minister extended an invitation to the Saudi foreign minister to visit Bangladesh at his convenience. Saudi Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Waleed Abdulkarim El-Khereiji, Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the OIC, and senior officials from both countries were present at the meeting.

The strengthening of ties between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia is expected to bring significant benefits to both nations. For Bangladesh, increased Saudi investment and business engagement can lead to job creation, technology transfer, and economic growth. The commitment to deeper economic cooperation underscores the strategic importance of the relationship for both countries.
