In Tangail district, a mobile court in Madhupur upazila fined three business establishments a total of Taka 1,60,000 for violating laws related to weights and measure standards and consumer rights protection. The fines were imposed following a court conducted on Tuesday afternoon in the Laufula and Kaitkai areas, led by Madhupur Assistant Commissioner (Land) Naim Uddin.

## Details of the Fines

Salam Auto Rice Mill in Kaitkai was fined Taka 100,000 for violating provisions under the Weights and Measures Standards Act, 2018. Additionally, Arif Bread and Biscuit Factory and Manik Bakery, both located in the Laufula area, were fined Taka 20,000 and Taka 40,000 respectively for producing food items in unhygienic conditions, in violation of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009.

## Government Action and Future Drives

The total fine of Taka 1,60,000 has been deposited in the government treasury. Assistant Commissioner Naim Uddin emphasized that such drives would continue to protect public interest and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
