In a significant development for the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), five additional brokerage houses have received FIX certification, allowing them to implement their own Order Management Systems (OMS) via API connectivity with the bourse's trading system. The newly certified firms include Emperor Securities & Wealth Management Ltd., Global Securities Ltd., Md. Fakhrul Islam Securities Ltd., SIBL Securities Limited, and Stock & Bond Limited.

The certification ceremony took place in the DSE boardroom, where DSE Chief Technology Officer Dr Md Asifur Rahman presented the FIX certifications to representatives from the newly certified firms. The event was attended by several senior DSE officials, including DSE Acting Chief Financial Officer and General Manager (Market Development) Saiyid Mahmud Zubayer, Deputy General Manager Md Shafiqul Rahman, Jishan Muhammad Bin Hasan, and others.

Since initiating the API-based Brokerage House Order Management System (BHOMS) in 2020, DSE has seen a growing interest from brokerage houses seeking to connect their OMS to the Nasdaq Matching Engine through API connectivity. A total of 93 brokerage houses have applied for this connection, with 66 now having received FIX certification. Among these, 56 have successfully launched their own OMS.

The FIX certification is a crucial step for brokerage houses, enabling them to enhance their trading capabilities and improve operational efficiency. This initiative by DSE aims to modernize the trading infrastructure and provide a more streamlined trading experience for all participants in the stock market.

The recent additions to the list of certified firms mark a milestone in DSE's ongoing efforts to promote technological advancements in the financial sector. As more firms adopt API-based OMS, the stock market is expected to benefit from increased efficiency and reduced trading errors.
