The approval came during the 30th meeting of the CCGP held at the Cabinet Division, chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.

## Modernization of Power Distribution System

One of the approved proposals is from the Power Division for the "Modernization of Network Infrastructure and Power Distribution System in NESCO Area" project. This project, under Package No. GD6 (P-06), involves the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of nine 33/11 kV AIS substation upgradation works in the Rangpur Zone. The contract, valued at Tk 141.33 crore, was awarded to the joint venture of Adex Corporation Limited (ACL) and Adex Engineering Limited (AEL).

## Improvement of Rural Road Infrastructure

The CCGP also approved a variation proposal from the Local Government Division under the "Construction of Important Bridges on Rural Roads (2nd Phase)" project. This variation pertains to ongoing works under Package No. CIB2-Pan-W-30 in Boda Upazila of Panchagarh district, implemented by National Development Engineers Ltd. The original contract value of Tk 110 crore has been increased by Tk 6.09 crore, representing a 5.54 percent rise, bringing the revised contract value to Tk 116.09 crore.

## Significance of the Approvals

The approval of these proposals is expected to significantly contribute to the strengthening of the country's power distribution system and the improvement of rural transport infrastructure. The modernization of the power distribution system will enhance the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply in the NESCO area, while the improvement of rural road infrastructure will facilitate better connectivity and economic activities in the region.

## Next Steps

With the CCGP's approval, the implementation of these projects can now proceed. The Power Division and the Local Government Division will oversee the execution of the projects, ensuring that the work is completed within the stipulated timeframe and budget. These developments are part of the government's broader efforts to enhance infrastructure and support economic growth across the country.
