# Aminul Haque: Youth Employment and Sports Key to Reducing Social Crimes

In a bid to reduce social crimes, State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque highlighted the importance of youth employment and sports during an International Youth Day event. Aminul stated that creating employment opportunities for young people is crucial in keeping them away from harmful activities. He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that young individuals do not remain unemployed after completing their studies, instead encouraging them to acquire practical skills through technical education.

Speaking at the event organized by Debate for Democracy with support from CARE Bangladesh and SOS Children's Villages Bangladesh, Aminul noted that the government is working towards a zero-tolerance policy on corruption and is fostering a fair and transparent political environment. He added that various measures are being taken to ensure that youth do not fall into the trap of unemployment and social crimes.

Aminul also pointed out that sports play a significant role in keeping young people away from drug addiction. He mentioned that the government is working to establish sports as a viable profession and has plans to develop playgrounds across the country. Starting from the next academic year, sports will be made compulsory from Grade Four.

By promoting youth employment and sports, Aminul believes Bangladesh can effectively reduce social crimes and create a more productive and engaged youth workforce. The government’s efforts aim to build a safer and more stable society by providing young people with meaningful opportunities and activities.
